While the data itself may not be very informative, it is the basis for all reporting and as such is crucial in business.

Why is it essential for us to use database systems?

Databases can store very large numbers of records efficiently (they take up little space). It is very quick and easy to find information . It is easy to add new data and to edit or delete old data. Data can be searched easily, eg 'find all Ford cars'.

Why is good data so important?

Data quality is important because we need: accurate and timely information to manage services and accountability. good information to manage service effectiveness. to prioritise and ensure the best use of resources.
