Where is encryption key stored?
The encryption key is created and stored on the key management server. The key manager creates the encryption key through the use of a cryptographically secure random bit generator and stores the key, along with all it's attributes, into the key storage database.
How do I find my phone encryption code?
To get started, go to Settings > Security > Encryption > Screen lock. Select the PIN option and enter a PIN. The Android device is ready to be encrypted. Use the settings menu to open the encryption screen below by following Settings > Security > Encryption > Encrypt tablet or Encrypt phone.
Can lost encryption keys be retrieved?
Some Encryption Keys cannot be restored, even if Key Escrow is turned ON. To perform a key recovery operation we need some files from your client's latest backup from your Server, a key file generated by your Server, and legal documents signed by your client and yourself authorizing us to recover the key.
Are Android phones encrypted by default?
Android encryption is not enabled by default on newer phones, but activating it is very simple. First, enable a PIN by going to Settings → Security → Screen lock → PIN, and choosing a number you can remember (alternately, you can use a pattern or password to unlock your phone).
