What is user data in Chrome?
All changes that you make in Google Chrome, for example your home page, what toolbars you use, any saved passwords, and your bookmarks, are all stored in a special folder, which is called a user data directory.
Can I delete Chrome user data?
If you uninstall chrome the user data folder will still be present. Once you reinstall you will be able to see all the data once you open chrome again after re-installation. You still can delete the chrome user data folder to clean all the traces of chrome but this folder will be inactive until Chrome is installed.
What happens if I clear Chrome user data?
When you would clear Chrome's data using Settings app, everything under the private data directory of Chrome ( /data/data/com. android. chrome ) would be deleted, so, yes, your opened tabs would be lost and as Victor Ivanov noted, the history would also be deleted.
