What is the 127.0 0.0 address?
It is a loopback address(localhost address).
What is the significance of the 127.0 0.1 IP address?
The address 127.0. 0.1 is the standard address for IPv4 loopback traffic; the rest are not supported by all operating systems. However, they can be used to set up multiple server applications on the host, all listening on the same port number.
Why 127 is the loopback address?
No datagram “sent” to a network 127 address should ever appear on any network anywhere. 0 and 127 were the only reserved Class A networks by 1981. 0 was used for pointing to a specific host, so that left 127 for loopback.
