What is a server scan?
A network security scan will test your system or server for vulnerabilities that can be used to compromise a system. Examples are improperly configured administrator accounts, anonymous access to system files and directories, and obsolete versions of system software.
What is real-time scan antivirus?
Real-time scanning protects the computer by scanning all files when they are accessed and by blocking access to those files that contain malware. When your computer tries to access a file, Real-time scanning scans the file for malware before it allows your computer to access the file.
What is a smart scan?
Smart Scan is a new technology from Trend Micro that utilizes a central scan server on your network to take the burden of scanning off your clients and reduce the amount of network traffic. Enable Smart Scan to let the Smart Scan Server download all the necessary scan components and scan clients.
How long does Trend Micro scan take?
First, I ran Trend Micro's quick scan. It only took 3 minutes on my computer, which is pretty impressive (some other antivirus products take 10–30 minutes for a quick scan). The quick scan identified every malicious sample in my critical folders, which is impressive.
