What is a SQL login?
A login is a security principal at the scope of the SQL Server instance, and a SQL Server instance can contain numerous databases. There are two main types of logins; Windows authenticated login and SQL Server authenticated login. Simply stated, a login allows you to connect to a SQL Server instance.
What is a user database?
User databases are the database where we will create for storing the data and the user starts to work with the data.
What is credential database?
A credential is a record that contains the authentication information (credentials) required to connect to a resource outside SQL Server. This information is used internally by SQL Server. Most credentials contain a Windows user name and password.
What is the difference between logins and users?
A Login is an identity used to connect to a SQL Server instance. A User allows you to log into a SQL Server database and is mapped to a Login.
