Where do files go when you make them available offline?
Files and folders selected as available offline are stored in the User directory cache and not accessible using a file explorer. They can only be accessed via the virtual drive, and only when Drive for desktop is running.
How does Google Doc available offline work?
In an attempt to save space locally, Google Docs only saves recently accessed files locally for use offline. You have to manually enable it by clicking on the three dots icon to the side of a specific document, then toggle “Available Offline” to access your file from anywhere.
