What is the difference between data and system?

A computer information system is the subset of the information system that automates information management using computers. Inside the computer information system, information is stored as data.

What are system files?

A system file is a critical document in a computer system without which it cannot operate correctly or at all. These files usually come as part of the operating system which it uses for its core operations or it may be part of a device driver or other type of resource.

Are program files and data files the same?

Program Files is for executables and other static files that came as part of the installation. ProgramData is for user-agnostic data generated during execution such as shared cache, shared databases, shared settings, shared preferences, etc. User-specific data goes in the AppData folder.

What are data files?

A data file is any file containing information, but not code; it is only meant to be read or viewed and not executed. For example, this web page, a letter you write in a word processor, and a text file are all considered data files. Programs may also rely on data files to get information.
