Is SQLite good for big databases?
SQLite supports databases up to 281 terabytes in size, assuming you can find a disk drive and filesystem that will support 281-terabyte files. Even so, when the size of the content looks like it might creep into the terabyte range, it would be good to consider a centralized client/server database.
How much data is too much for SQLite?
There is no 2 GB limit. SQLite database files have a maximum size of about 140 TB. On a phone, the size of the storage (a few GB) will limit your database file size, while the memory size will limit how much data you can retrieve from a query. Furthermore, Android cursors have a limit of 1 MB for the results.
Is SQLite good for big projects?
Sqlite is ok for mobile application and small applications but I would avoid it for larger projects. Go for something like MySQL, SQL Server (Windows) or Postgre. SQLite can be really slow in big projects.
Is SQLite high performance?
SQLite 2.7. 6 is often faster (sometimes more than twice as fast) than MySQL 3.23. 41 for most common operations. SQLite does not execute CREATE INDEX or DROP TABLE as fast as the other databases.
