How performant is SQLite?

SQLite 2.7.6 is often faster (sometimes more than twice as fast) than MySQL 3.23.41 for most common operations. SQLite does not execute CREATE INDEX or DROP TABLE as fast as the other databases.

Is SQLite faster than file?

General Findings. SQLite is competitive with, and usually faster than, blobs stored in separate files on disk, for both reading and writing. SQLite is much faster than direct writes to disk on Windows when anti-virus protection is turned on.
