How often is Azure backed up?
Azure VMs: Once a day. Machines protected by DPM/MABS: Twice a day. Machines backed up directly by using the MARS agent: Three times a day. Backup is within a region.
Are Azure servers backed up?
Azure Backups are stored in Azure storage, which is automatically created by the backup service. As Azure storage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, this serves as a very inexpensive backup solution for your data estate in the cloud.
How many times a day can an Azure virtual machine be backed up?
Yes. You can back up Windows Server or Windows machines up to three times a day. You can set the scheduling policy to daily or weekly schedules. You can back up DPM up to twice a day.
Are Azure VMs automatically backed up?
Once assigned, any new VM created in the scope is automatically configured for backup.
