How do I copy a key that isn't allowed to be copied?
Duplication of restricted keys is limited to approved manufacturers and locksmiths and requires the use of particular tools. Can restricted keys be copied?
The keys in a restricted key system are unique in their design, are patent protected, and can only be copied by authorised people. This eliminates the security headaches caused by stolen, lost and unauthorised copying that can happen with a standard key system.
Is there a type of key that Cannot be copied?
There are certain keys that cannot be duplicated. They are called Do not duplicate (DND) keys. How much a locksmith may try but those keys are rather invincible. They are safer as no one can duplicate them so the locks they open are also safe.
