Is primary key Autoincrement?
Auto-increment allows a unique number to be generated automatically when a new record is inserted into a table. Often this is the primary key field that we would like to be created automatically every time a new record is inserted.
Does SQLite auto generate ID?
As you can see clearly from the output, SQLite implicitly creates a column named rowid and automatically assigns an integer value whenever you insert a new row into the table. Note that you can also refer to the rowid column using its aliases: _rowid_ and oid .
Does SQLite auto index primary key?
SQLite does not appear to automatically create an index for a primary key column, but perhaps it indexes it anyway, given its purpose? (I will be searching on that column all the time).
Does SQLite need a primary key?
The PRIMARY KEY is optional for ordinary tables but is required for WITHOUT ROWID tables. If a table has a single column primary key and the declared type of that column is "INTEGER" and the table is not a WITHOUT ROWID table, then the column is known as an INTEGER PRIMARY KEY.
