What does ls command do in Windows?
The ls command is used to list files. "ls" on its own lists all files in the current directory except for hidden files.
Why ls command does not work in Windows?
Windows by default does not have an ls program, and it isn't a built-in command. Because they didn't implement an 'ls' command in their shell. Not did the makers of Unix, actually, as Unix shells mostly do not implement an 'ls' command, either.
How do I find the ls command in Windows?
Answer: Type DIR to show the folders and files in command prompt. DIR is the MS DOS version of LS, which lists the files and folders in the current directory. Here is a huge list of all the Linus terminal commands and their Windows equivalents.
