Does DBMS use SQL?

Although most database systems use SQL, most of them also have their own additional proprietary extensions that are usually only used on their system.
Is DBMS SQL or MySQL?
SQL follows a standard format wherein the basic syntax and commands used for DBMS and RDBMS remain pretty much the same, whereas MySQL receives frequent updates. SQL supports a single storage engine, but MySQL supports multiple storage engines and also plug-in storage engines. Thus, MySQL is more flexible.

Most data is stored in relational databases, and – as you already know – SQL is very good at interacting with relational databases. So to get data out of a relational database and to feed it into a program or web application, you'll need to know SQL.
