Linked servers are available in SQL Server Database Engine and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
How do I create a linked server in managed instance?
To do that, open SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the local instance. In object explorer, expand Server Objects > Linked Servers and right click and select "New Linked Server."
Does SQL managed instance support linked server?
Only one database can be placed into a single Availability Group per one Distributed Availability Group link. Link can't be established between SQL Server and SQL Managed Instance if functionality used on SQL Server isn't supported on SQL Managed Instance.
Can you create a linked server in Azure Database?
You just need to change the logicalservername to the actual Azure server name which you can get from the Azure portal. Enter the Azure database name that you want to create the linked server to in the catalog field.
