How much can you store in SQLite?
SQLite database files have a maximum size of about 140 TB. On a phone, the size of the storage (a few GB) will limit your database file size, while the memory size will limit how much data you can retrieve from a query. Furthermore, Android cursors have a limit of 1 MB for the results.
Why you should not use SQLite?
High write volumes: SQLite allows only one write operation to take place at any given time, which significantly limits its throughput. If your application requires lots of write operations or multiple concurrent writers, SQLite may not be adequate for your needs.
Is SQLite faster than file?
General Findings. SQLite is competitive with, and usually faster than, blobs stored in separate files on disk, for both reading and writing. SQLite is much faster than direct writes to disk on Windows when anti-virus protection is turned on.
